Alejandro Arola, studied law at the University of Barcelona with previous studies at the Collège du Léman in Geneva, Switzerland.
He has held the title of Customs Agent since 1986 and the Freight Forwarder since 1990, with professional practice at the Official Customs Brokers of Barcelona, Cadiz, Algeciras, Valencia and Tarragona.
Since 2015 he has been an independent consultant to the Inter-American Development Bank to advise on the implementation of customs and facilitation programs.
Since September 2015, when it was created, it is president of the International Federation of OAS companies (IFAEO) based in Brussels that groups certified companies from five continents regardless of their activity or role in the logistics chain.
He is President of Grupo Arola, founded by his father in 1952 and with its own offices in Barcelona, Bilbao, La Junquera, Las Palmas, Madrid, Tarragona, Valencia and Cadiz, developing the services of customs management, logistic operator, legal-legal, IIEE management, consultancy for the certification of Authorized Economic Operator and training in foreign trade.
Grupo Arola has correspondents in more than 80 countries on five continents and manages more than 80,000 foreign trade operations annually.
His company was the first customs agency in Spain to obtain certification as an Authorized Economic Operator having been selected by the Spanish Customs to work as a pilot company from February 2007 to August 2008 at which time he obtained certification both in the modality of customs and security simplifications. The OAS certification is the highest level of confidence and trustworthiness granted by the European Union in customs matters.
